The Museum of Living Art Ft. Miss Maple Rose, Octavia Reign, Welcome Thrillho + Katankin at POME-BERNZERK

  • POME-Bernzerk 267 Swan Street Richmond, VIC, 3121 Australia (map)

POME is excited to be back with The Museum of Living Art! The night aims to showcase multiple performance art disciplines with a focus on sensual and erotic art delivered through burlesque, dance and cultural art forms, photography and multimedia, by artists of all genders and identifications.

The performers:

This beacon of Canadian wonderment, this shimmering Aurora Borealis, has been described as the unwanted lovechild of Tempest Storm and Lucille Ball. She’s Australia’s classiest piece of bacon on stage, but off stage she smashes tinnies like a champ. Chief hobbies include: smothering herself in poutine, drinking maple syrup from a moose skull and playing hockey with her beaver (wink wink). Her favourite food? Well that’s pretty obvious. She is the one, the only… Miss Maple Rose.

Octavia Reign invokes the lustiest loyalty of eyes and hearts. Just try to tear yourself away once this firey sass queen starts to strut and shake! An accomplished dance school graduate, singer and lover of all things glamorous, Octavia has been tearing up stages in the Melbourne rock and soul music scene for many years. This combined experience has lent her an undeniable edge, a vivacious and shameless zeal and a fiery reputation as a dancer with sparkle (and shade) that never disappoints. Following her burlesque debut in 2019, Octavia's passion for performance, rhinestones, reveals, and of course a sweet drop of wine or two, has seen her glide with a bold and intoxicating presence into the shimmering world of burlesque where her true Reign has just begun.

A sensual slice of heaven, a devilish diva, an immortal goddess, a clinically-diagnosed The Simpsons addict, Welcome Thrillho has curves you could eat off of and an energy audiences live for! Spirited, seductive and searing, you never know what this crafty Lizard Queen is hiding under her flood pants, so prepare for anything…

Katankin is the solo moniker of singer-songwriter,instrumentalist, and producer Helen Catanchin. Formally trained as a jazz singer, Katankin was born from Helen’s desire to return to her singer-songwriter roots, and integrate more diverse musical and production elements into her works. Katankin is the phonetic spelling of her Russian surname (allowing its correct pronunciation for the first time in the singer’s life), and further symbolises this return to one’s roots, to one’s true self.
