Level 1: Dance Technique - From Floor to Fans - 1h
Keen to tweak your technique? Maple Rose is a renowned fan dance teacher, choreographer and mentor from Melbourne’s Maison Burlesque Academy, who smoothly melds the art of tease with strong dance technique and musicality. From swing to classic burlesque to ballet - she’s done it all! Finesse your fan dance skills, touch up on that footwork, or even learn a floor work trick - Maple will give you tips on how to safely train for your act and build on dance techniques to put that punch in your bumps!
Level 2: Mentorship for an Established Act - 1.5h
Are you looking for another set of eyes to go over your established act? Maple Rose is a fan-favourite at Melbourne’s Maison Burlesque for private mentorships and act advice. Add that bit of oomph to your act in a constructive, supportive environment focusing on characterisation, musicality, footwork, tease and even costuming tips! Best suited to those with an act at least 80% completed.
Level 3: Choreography & Act Development - 1.5h - 2h + a half hour zoom call
Are you smacking your head against the wall trying to get that new act together? Are you stuck on choreography or confused as to how to meld that beautiful costume with your music? Maple Rose, mentor, educator and studio manager at Maison Burlesque, puts her heart and soul into supporting new artists in the development of their artistic work. With a private zoom call prior to your one-on-one studio time to chat about concept, music and costume, Maple will help you develop your new act and build on your existing skills to make that act powerful, emotive and entertaining! From choreography to narrative, we’ll get that new act of yours ready for the stage!
ABOUT MAPLE ROSE
Miss Maple Rose has been described as the unwanted lovechild of Tempest Storm and Lucille Ball.
Combining her professional expertise in costume and set design with her foundation in classical dance, Maple guides many a budding performance artist in the art of tease! She’s here to prove that “classic burlesque” doesn’t have to be boring. Either with feather fans or tapping toes, Maple will take you on a deep dive into burlesque history.
Winner of the the 1st Runner Up crown at Miss Burlesque Australia 2018, voted number 21 in the 21st Century Burlesque Magazine’s Top 50 Most Influential Artists of 2021, and voted Best Solo Artist and Most Classic at the Australian Burlesque Industry Awards, The Busties, in 2018 - Maple has shown Australia she's one tornado with her feather fans and couture costumes!

Anyone found to be engaging in the above behaviour will be asked to leave the workshops immediately.
Refund Policy
Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable for any reason including but not limited to:
• change of mind
• missing part or all of an Australian Burlesque Festival event due to late arrival
• unable to attend due to medical/personal reasons*
*Refunds will only be considered due to extenuating circumstances related to Covid-19 – specifically where the Australian Federal and/or State Government authorities mandate an official change/upgrade in regulations and restrictions regarding social distancing and/or large event and large group gatherings.
Please arrive 10 minutes before class commences and quietly wait outside until the workshop prior is complete. Do not enter the studio if there is a workshop.
All students are responsible for ensuring they are medically fit to attend the class. ABF is not responsible for injury. Please let the instructor know if you have an injury or medical condition.
Instructors retain copyright for all content taught in the workshops. Cannot be used for commercial or public use without the instructors consent.
ABF is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items. Please make sure you take all items with you after the workshop.
Please leave promptly when the workshop finishes as there are other workshops immediately after.
No photos are allowed during the workshops unless the instructor has approved the shot. All students will be encouraged to join in the group shot at the end of the workshop.
If an instructor is unable to attend the workshop then a suitable substitute teacher may fill in that workshop. If not the workshop fee, excluding credit card/booking fee will be refunded.
All workshops will incur a booking fee (credit card, Paypal). No bank transfer available.
