Workshop 1: 9:00am to 10:30am
Instructor: Sapphire Snow (Adelaide)
Name of Class: Solo Blues Movement for Burlesque
Class Description: In this workshop, Sapphire will combine classic burlesque bump and grind with the sultry and powerful movement of solo blues dancing. Learn to create a flow throughout your movement on stage, whilst still enjoying moments of stillness and hitting accents in your music.
This will be a workout for your legs and core.
What to bring/wear: Comfortable, stretchy clothing. Bare feet or low heels are recommended (no stilettos).

Workshop 2: 10:45am to 12:15pm
Instructor: Chloe The Cocaine (Melbourne)
Name of Class: Hankey Dance
Class Description: Are you looking for a challenge with a circus burlesque twist? Are you keen to try a working with a unique prop? Are you ready to have a taste of the "Forbidden City"?
Join Australia’s Chinese Barbie Doll, Chloe The Cocaine in this "Forbidden City Circus" Chinese Handkerchief workshop. She is going to take you onto a new journey of spinning, twirling, and tossing with vibrant coloured octagonal hankies.
What to bring/wear: Wear what ever you like, just ensure if you are wearing heels make sure they aren’t too high so you can get the most out of the footwork.
Level: All levels. Props supplied.
Workshop 3: 12:30pm to 2:00pm
Instructor: Kiki DeVille (UK)
Name of Class: So you think you can host?
Class Description: Compering is a lot more difficult than people make out. You are the glue that holds the show together, responsible for keeping the audience engaged the whole time, and most importantly, the person who brings on each and every performer with an introduction that makes the audience fall in love with them before they go onstage.
It’s not just “Ladies and Gentlemen” (oh and it shouldn’t be because that’s no very inclusive!)
Kiki DeVille is one of Europe’s best know comperes and brings to this workshop over 10 years of hosting know how, with tips and tricks to help you become the host you want to be.
What to bring/wear: Notepad and pen. Wear something comfortable.

Workshop 4: 2:15pm to 3:45pm
Instructor: Scarlet Tinkabelle (Brisbane)
Name of Class: The Alternative Showgirl
Class Description: Taught by Brisbane’s firey fairy, in this workshop she’ll be blurring the fusion between the classic showgirl and a rocking babette!
Learning showgirl must haves and how to twist them into an alternative arrangement to some rockin tunes!
What to bring: What to bring: water bottle & heels! Wear: Comfortable clothes that you can move in.

Workshop 5: 4:00pm to 5:30pm
Instructor: Maple Rose (Melbourne)
Name of Class: “Classic with Character”
Class Description: Learn the tricks of putting that punch in your bumps, that pepper in your grind, and that zest in your striptease.
“Classic burlesque” has had a bad rep of being labelled boring, but it’s far from it! Maple Rose, voted most Classic at the Busties in 2018, will guide you into exploring characterisation within the traditional burlesque style to create your own unique striptease character. From beginners to advanced students, this workshop is open to anyone keen to learn more skills in the theatrics of burlesque. We will play around with clowning, narrative, dramaturgy and costuming within the realm of traditional burlesque dance styles after we will dive into the history books to find examples of iconic burlesque stars and explore how their onstage personas skyrocketed their careers.
What to bring: Bring your dancing shoes, comfy clothes you can move in, a notebook and pen. And if you feel up for it, bring any small costume piece you feel truly embodies your burlesque character. This workshop will comprise of theory and movement.
